Hello,
I have a build server with no registered 3rd party assemblies in the GAC. We manage our 3rd party assemblies also in the version control. We want to use the infralution lib for our controls.
Therefore my questions:
- is an installation of the infralution assembly necessary to license the installation on our build server?
We do not want a installation of the assemblies to ensure a clean build environment of our builds.
- A remark in the application ("trial version of infralution") or something similar would be okay in the automated builds. A release of the application is always done half-automatic on a special environment.
- ideally we want to license the buildserver without any installation of the infralution, is this possible?
best regards,
Hans |

When you purchase ILS we provide source code for the classes in the DLL, which allows you to incorporate these directly in your application project (eliminating the need for the DLL completely).
If you do choose to continue using the DLL then you can simply reference the DLL from your application project (it does not need to be installed in the GAC). A license is only required for generating keys not for reading them - so you would not need to install a license.
Our licensing conditions require you to purchase a license for each developer who compiles code that uses ILS. If a developer has additional machines (such as a dedicated build or test machines) these do not require an additional license. _________________ Infralution Support |

There is only one DLL (Infralution.Licensing.dll) that you would need to reference. Most customers, however, include the source code classes directly in their application rather than use the DLL. This allows the classes to be obfuscated as part of your application (if you are using an obfuscator) and means you don't have distribute the DLL _________________ Infralution Support |
