We don't have over 75,000 sales yet with the licensing system, but I get an exception in the manual generator if I enter a number that is 100,000 or higher, and I believe I got it if it was above 75,000 as well. I'm not sure what the exact cutoff is. I was actually going to start at 1,000,000 as the serial number for manually generated keys and start at 1 for the server (IPN.NET) generated keys, but that won't work because of this particular bug.

To keep the sizes of the keys a reasonable length the number of unique serial numbers possible is actual restricted to a 16 bit unsigned int. This means the max serial number possible is 65535.

License Tracker actually handles the possibility of you exceeding this number of sales by rolling over the serial number. This does create the possibility of non-unique keys if you are lucky enough to sell more than 65535 products. License Tracker will handle this however. In reality it is very unlikely that you will sell 65535 of any given product without changing either the product password (say for a major upgrade) or changing the ProductInfo. Either of these possibilities mean that different keys are generated even though two licenses may have the same serial number.

If this did become an issue for you then you can simply change the ProductInfo to force different keys to be generated.
