Can this licensing system be used to license a dll written in .Net 4.5? The dll being licensed would be used by an asp.net application/website.

Yes you could license a DLL using ILS - but exactly how you would do this would depend on whether your customers will themselves be distributing the DLL to their customers (or whether your customers ARE the end customer). If your customer is the end customer then you could use either authenticated or simple encrypted licensing. Essentially this would be similar to the ASP.NET licensing samples. If you are selling the DLL to developers - who will then distribute the DLL to their customers then you will probably only really have the option of using simple encrypted licensing - since they need to be able to distribute the working/licensed dll to their customers. In this case you would probably provide a API function in your assembly that allows the client code to provide the license key and so unlock the assembly.

Thanks for the quick response.

I would be selling the dll to end customers who will then use the dll to incorporate some functionality in their asp.net apps. So, I will go with the same licensing mechanism as an ASP.Net app.
