This is probably not a Globalizer issue, just wondering if anyone else has seen this as I can't find any information on it elsewhere. When translating from English to various languages, I get an "Unsupported To Culture" if any of the Norwegian culture codes is included in the targeted languages. I can use the Bing translator site to manually translate to Norwegian, but not via the Auto Translate function in Globalizer 3.6.2. |

We will look into it. It may be that they don't support translation of Norwegian via the API - or possibly are using different (non-standard) language/culture identifiers. _________________ Infralution Support |

Thanks. It seems they have things backward with lang/culture codes there. They use nb-NO and nn-NO instead of the expected no-NB and no-NN. So it seems Globalizer's assumption of "no" might be the issue? |

The following page gives the list of supported language codes for Bing translator:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh456380.aspx
Microsoft really have got the Norwegian cultures wrong. Norway is a country not a culture. There are two different languages spoken Norsk bokmål and Norsk Nynorsk. Bing actually only supports Norsk bokmål but it defines the language code for this as "no". This means that you can use Bing Auto Translation for Norsk bokmål if you add the base Norwegian culture to your workspace and then translate this column (instead of the specific culture). This will pass "no" as the culture to Bing and the translation will work. Interestingly if you translate the base Norwegian culture using Google they actually translate into Norsk Nynorsk. Google actually support both Norsk bokmål and Norsk Nynorsk if you have the specific culture in your workspace.
In the next release we will fix the Bing translator plugin so that if you translate the specific Norsk bokmål culture using Bing it will pass the "no" culture to Bing. _________________ Infralution Support |

We have just released Version 3.6.4 of Globalizer that includes a fix for translating Norwegian bokmål culture using Bing. _________________ Infralution Support |
