Is there any way to detect translations that are in my infralution project file, in my resx files, but no longer used within my application? I'd like to trim the fat if I can.

The scanner seems to tell me about strings that are in my project file, but not in my resx files (for example if I rename a resource), but there doesn't appear to be any way to detect the situation in which the resource is just completely unused.

No Globalizer doesn't currently have a way of checking whether resources are actually used in your code. We will have a look at how difficult it would be to add something to the XAML scanner that gave you some kind of warning about unused resources.
