Hi,

1) I'm extending the trial period as described here via EvaluationMonitor.Reset(). However after the reset I can't set the days in use back to what it was, so my testing possibilities are quite limited. I don't want to wait 30 days just for testing, and tampering with clock settings is dangerous. Isn't there any way (even at a lower level) to arbitrarily set the value of EvaluationMonitor.UsageCount and/or DaysInUse just for testing purposes?

2) I found out that Infralution will always allow the reset procedure to be run twice. Changing the code to resetMonitor.UsageCount <= 0 doesn't work because UsageCount is never zero, even after a Reset(). Is this the way it should be?

Thanks a lot

1. There is no API to change the days in Evaluation start date. When testing the EvaluationMonitor code ourselves we change the system date/time. This doesn't cause any significant issues as long as you aren't running other software when you do it. If you are particularly concerned about the possible affects then I would suggest doing this testing on a Virtual Machine - not a bad idea for testing anyway.

2. I've just checked the behaviour of this and it worked correctly (only allowed the reset the first time the program was run).

A VM is a great idea, I'll try it. After that I'll check out the second issue more thoroughly and I'll eventually come back here.

Thanks for the speedy response.

The VM worked wonderfully, thanks! For those who are interested, I've set up an Oracle VM VirtualBox running Windows XP under Windows 7, then installed TClock in the VM so the date is displayed more prominently. I didn't have any experience with a VM before, but I found this particular software quite easy to install and use.

After that I've fixed my code, and question 2 does not make sense anymore. Thanks again for the excellent support.
