Is it possible to reduce the number of days in an evaluation without creating a dummy license key? The default period of 30 days is too long for my purposes.

You can have an evaluation however long you want. If you look at the code in the sample License App project that uses the EvaluationMonitor you will see it just checks the DaysInUse property and makes a decision based on that.
