|
|
Hi
I have License Tracker setup and can generate and authenticate licenses OK.
I've now setup the Ipn Service and pointed the database to that that tracker uses so it is integrated.
I can go to the ...ipn\default.aspx page Ok and it says:
"This is an evaluation version of IPN.NET. Use the Install Form to install a license."
so I assume this is as expected.
I open the IPN Test tool and do Tools\Load Sample Data
I change the server_url to point to the same url that I tested in IE above.
I leave all other settings as-is and do a File\Post Data.
It just hangs and eventually times out. Nothing appear in the sales tab in tracker.
What am I doing wrong?
Regards

Have you configured the IPN.NET Server from License Tracker? To do this use the IPN.NET > Configure Server menu in License Tracker.
If you have done this and still are having issues then the problem is most likely related to your SMTP email settings. In this case follow the steps in the help under "Debugging the Deployed IPN.NET Server" to check that your post is being received by the server and see what the error is. _________________ Infralution Support |

Hi
Yep the IPN.NET Server is configured in License Tracker. I'd post a screenshot but that doesn't seem possible.
I'm confused about the debugging as it suggests using the development server.
As I'm using an IIS based IPN Server can I still debug as I don't see a trace.axd. have you got steps; do I just start the server and instead just point the IPN tester to this url or do I need to configure IPN to use this.
A bit confusing! Can I send some screenshots to support maybe?

I just started up the local Server on 1338 and also ran a trace in my browser.
I opened up the Test Tool and loaded sample defaults. Pressed Post and it just hangs and eventually times out. Nothing in trace at all apart from the title and column headers.
Presumably it's not normally this difficult. I don't know what to do now.

Ah OK I found the error.
I setup smtp.gmail.com but had a second "l" in it which I didn't immediately spot.
I get an email now:
Generated using an evaluation version of Infralution IPN Server
Invalid PayPal Account:
atester@customer.com
Do I need to use real Paypal values then?
Assuming I can actually get it to send a valid email would I expect an entry to automatically insert into the Sales Tab or do I have to manually import from Outlook?

You get this error if the receiver_email and business fields you specified in the Test Tool don't match the PayPal email account you entered when configuring the IPN.NET Server settings in License Tracker. In this case it looks like you haven't changed the business/receiver_email values in the Test Tool from the default sample values. _________________ Infralution Support |

Hi
So if I change these both to the same ID I setup for my PayPal account in IPN server settings (it's a real PayPal account), I now get a slightly different message:
Generated using an evaluation version of Infralution IPN Server
Payment not verified by PayPal. PayPal response: INVALID
So I'm still doing something wrong?

Yes - you need to uncheck the "Verify IPN Posts" and check the "Allow Test Posts" option when you configure the IPN.NET Server in License Tracker. This will allow you to post data from the Test Tool (and from the PayPal Test sandbox) without the IPN.NET server posting the data back to PayPal to verify it is a genuine post.
Remember to change these settings before going live. _________________ Infralution Support |

Success!!!
I really like the Infalution solution; it's taken me a day or so to get my mind around some of the concepts but it's robust and works fantastically and I can see what I need to do to get the solution LIVE.
I had previously purchased SoftActivate and had so much trouble trying to get the thing working (in the face of very poor documentation and zero useful error messages to go on!) that in the end they gave me a refund as they said they I was taking too much of their support time. Yep probably true for a non-intuitive, poorly documented and buggy product compared to Infalution.
It's true what they say; you get what you pay for!
I'm a "Happy Bunny"!

Yep I'm really happy and only took me 2 days to evaluate, setup and get the License Tracker and IPN doing real transactions end-to-end through PayPal. So I purchased both!
Fantastic, great product and friendly support; I like you already!
Just getting the licencing code into my app now; confident it'll work though as did from the sample apps.
Well done for a great couple of products, so pat yourselves on the back!
Regards
