I set up my database on Azure as described in this thread: http://www.infralution.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2720

However, every few days, the server stops accepting authentication requests. It fails with HTTP Error 500 and the following details:
Quote:
Detailed Error Information:

Module AspNetInitializationExceptionModule
Notification BeginRequest
Handler WebServiceHandlerFactory-Integrated-4.0
Error Code 0x00000000
Requested URL http://[censored].azurewebsites.net:80/AuthenticationService.asmx
Physical Path C:\DWASFiles\Sites\[censored]\VirtualDirectory0\site\wwwroot\AuthenticationService.asmx
Logon Method Not yet determined
Logon User Not yet determined

I fixed it by uploading the default Web.config and Install.aspx files and running Install.aspx, but it only happens again a few days later.

That actually sounds like a problem with your web server. I would be contacting Microsoft and ask them what the issue is.

Microsoft didn't get back to me, but I managed to fix the problem by storing the database connection parameters in the clear; see http://www.infralution.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=9227#9227

That's good that you have solved the issue - but I'm somewhat surprised that you would get that error message even if the machine had changed and invalidated your encrypted connection details.
