Hello Support
We have the first User Feedback for our app. Please have a look to our old Web/ActiveX based solution:
The old App have a lot of Activity Code Columns (PM, CE, BE, ond so on) on the Top its an "Risk + Responsible - Partner" Column, that Groups all the Activities Columns (like the Merge and Center Function in Excel).
We tried to make the new App without this Merged Column (because i'm sure, that it's not so easy to implement in VT), but the User's told us that they need and want the Column.
Do you see any possibilty to implement this? Or we have to brainwash our users?
Thanks and best Regards

The merged column header concept is probably incompatible with the flexibility that VT gives you in moving columns around - so it would be hard to generalize this mechanism.
If you are willing to give up some end-user flexibility (ie prevent columns being movable and user pinning of columns) then you could implement this yourself without too much difficulty. To do this you would implement your own HeaderWidget and and ColumnHeaderWidgets to draw the column headers as you want. _________________ Infralution Support |

Hello Support
Because we have a lot of Columns we need Pinned Columns.
But you think, that is possible to combine Default Columns (without Merged functionality) with custom Columns?
So that we can Pin the Column "MF / SF / WP" and Object and Merge the Columns "PM", "CE", "BE" and so on.. ?
Thanks

You need pinned columns - but do you need the user to be able to control this?
Allowing the user to pin and move columns will make implementing the merged column concept harder (not impossible necessarily). If you did not allow the end user to pin/unpin or move columns then this would be pretty easy. If you want to allow the user to pin/unpin and move columns then you will have to do some more work to prevent them moving a column from a merged group outside that group etc. This can be done by overriding the appropriate drag and drop method in the column header. _________________ Infralution Support |
