Moin,
I try to find a explanation when to check "use new configuration key" during authentication server configuration. What does it do exactly ? Is there a help section describing this feature ?
Best regards,

There is a tooltip for this option that provides an explanation - however we probably should include some explanation in the help as well.
You generally should NOT select this option. It is only intended to be used if you need to change the RSA key used to secure communication between License Tracker and the Authentication Server (if for instance you think that someone has obtained unauthorised access to your License Tracker database and so your existing key is compromised).
To change the configuration key you first run the Authentication Server install page and select the "Reset the Configuration Key.." option at the end. This tells the Authentication Server to accept the new configuration key when you next configure it from License Tracker and select the "Use New Configuration Key" option. If you select the "Use New Configuration Key" in license tracker, without first resetting the Authentication Server key via the Install page, you will get an "Invalid License Tracker Key" error when you attempt to configure the Authentication Server. _________________ Infralution Support |
