As we all know the .Net licensing system is not very well thought out. This poses a problem for most people who use external controls, especially in an automated build environment.
It would be great if you could enable us to add the license key programmatically to the code (this is what most other component vendors to). E.g. TreeControl.LicenseCode = "12312321-2323-23-23-23-323".
That way a lot of risk, especially for those of us who have wide scale distribution and agile developments with nightly semi public builds. |

Version 3 (due to be released very soon) will change the licensing model so that the license key is no longer stored next to the DLL. This did cause some problems under VS2005 because if your automated build process cleaned the bin directories then you could lose your license key. I suggest you give this a try when it comes out and if this does not resolve your issue we will take a further look at it. _________________ Infralution Support |

Do you have any plans for making it possible to programmatically adding the license key to the code. We don't have binary files in svn, so the applications must be compiled locally and we would like to avoid having to copy the license file to all computers. |

If you don't have a license key installed on the machine then you will be unable to use the control (or forms that contain it) at design time. It is also a legal requirement to have a seperate license key for each developers machine (unless you have purchased a site license). We don't have plans to change this. _________________ Infralution Support |
