When using virtual tree as pure tree (not a grid), it's prefered to have a some behaviour and some properties like standard windows tree control. I'v wrote some of them in the previous post. In addition I need a state icon for row (second icon that shows before standard icon and visualize state of row item).

You can do this using a PrefixColumn. Have a look at the FileBrowser sample which uses a prefix column to place a checkbox before the row icon.

You can define your own custom control to display as the DisplayMode.Always editor for the prefix column (useful if you want the user to be able to interact directly with the state icon).

Alternatively if you just want to display an icon (with no interaction) you can set the CellData.Value to an icon/image. To display the icon graphically you also need to set ShowText to false and ShowPreview to true.
