Just another minor issue while going through some stress-testing.. not a major problem since the chances of it actually being an issue for the most part is slim, but thought you'd like to be aware.
It looks like the application password is only significant to 8 characters, and as a result if you happen to try to use a "heirarchical" password system for applications exceeding the 8 characters, it generates the same keys.
Example:
Password: MyAppPass-aaaa
Resulting license: 969E-9298-B516-B7A1-5896-78B3-A5E6-1893
Password: MyAppPass-bbbb
Resulting License: 969E-9298-B516-B7A1-5896-78B3-A5E6-1893 (identical)
Password: MyAppPasX7D8D
Resulting License: 969E-9298-B516-B7A1-5896-78B3-A5E6-1893
It only generates a different license if any of the first 8 characters are modified.
Password: MyAppPa5X7D8D
Resulting License: 7942-4C96-A664-F126-DD1E-A7F9-77F4-3AC5
Haven't yet tested the behaviour with License Tracker though.
Nothing really major though since the chances of using the same first 8 characters of a password (or indeed a password longer than 8 characters) in multiple related/heirarchical applications is minimal.

Thanks - we were aware of this, but perhaps we could make it clear in the documentation. _________________ Infralution Support |
