Hi

I'm a customer of ILS. I'm currently developing a library of controls and components.
Btw, I'm discovering that licensing a WinForms application and licensing controls are sensibly different topics.
I often took the wrong way before turning bak to the start after realizing that components development requres a different way.

I think that should be very useful if someone clearly explain (if possible for every class/method) the principal differences between applications and controls strategy for licensing. What can be done and what cannot.

For example (but only some exampes): can InstallLicens be used for components? And GetLicense? Sorry, I've found no exemplyfing samples.

Another small issue: what is the difference between IsValid and IsLicensed?

Thank you.

D

Have you downloaded the latest version (2.2.0)? This includes a new simplified mechanism for licensing applications and has improved documentation on the differences between licensing components/controls and licensing applications. Actually prior to 2.2.0 there weren't really many differences between licensing applications and components - both required you to request a license for a given type and use the system LicenseManager class IsValid or IsLicensed methods to get the license.
