We have had Licensing configured and running well for the last couple of years, and we are now trying out IPN on the same server. We've just downloaded this morning the latest IPN installer and it works fine on our dev PCs using the IISExpress instance

However, we are having real trouble getting the application to deploy and run under IIS 10 though on Server 2016

If we use the web.config.NET2 config we get :

HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error

The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.

There is a duplicate 'system.web.extensions/scripting/scriptResourceHandler' section defined

And if we use the regular web.config then we get

The value for the 'compilerVersion' attribute in the provider options must be 'v4.0' or later if you are compiling for version 4.0 or later of the .NET Framework. To compile this Web application for version 3.5 or earlier of the .NET Framework, remove the 'targetFramework' attribute from the <compilation> element of the Web.config file.

We've tried using v2 and v4 Application Pools and just can't get our heads around whats going wrong.

Any advice would be greatly welcomed

If your server is using ASP.NET 2, 3 o r3.5 then you need to use (and rename) the Web.Config.NET2. If it is ASP.NET 4 or later than you should be using the Web.config. My guess is that you are running ASP.NET 4. As per the following stack overflow thread:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/5545499/compilerversion-attribute-in-the-provider-options-must-be-v4-0-or-later/18056647

It may be worth trying just removing the entire compilation and assemblies sections from the web.config.

Ok will give that a go next week.

I see the incredibly sad news about Infralution - we've used your Licensing for years, and just before the pandemic were testing out Globalizer and hoping to come back to that now that business is returning a little more to normal.

With IPN.NET is there a way we can purchase the IPN system and source code as we've just launched a new product using Licensing, and IPN would have been perfect for it?

Thanks,

For existing ILS users who were planning on using IPN.NET we are happy to provide you the option to purchase the IPN.NET source code without the need to purchase the license key (since we won't be around to support it). You can purchase the source code from:

http://www.infralution.com/purchase/ipn_dotnet.html

Just reference this post and provide your ILS key when asked to provide your IPN.NET key.
