If a license is deactivated, can it be re-activated? If so, can the user just authenticate the license again? What is the difference between deactivate, deauthenticate, and delete a license? Thank you. |

If you select a license and deactivate it then it deactivates all of the active authentications for the license AND sets the allowed Max Authentications for the key to zero. This prevents the license key from being activated again.
If you select an authentication for a license and deactivate it then this just deactivates that authentication and allows the customer to install the key on a new machine (or the same machine if they wish).
If you delete a license key this deletes the license key from the database - but, because of the way the authentication server authenticates keys, will not prevent the license key being reactivated by a user. For this reason you should not delete license keys which you have issued to customers. Instead deactivate them. Only delete license keys if you are sure that they have never been given to customers. _________________ Infralution Support |

This is a very important and useful information. I have incorrectly deleted some keys in the past that I should have deactivated instead. I suggest to put this information in the Help file, FAQ, or another prominent place. |
